Leominster Cemetery Commission receives additional $50,000 in city funding as burial space runs low. Chair David R. Cormier reported the city will provide the additional funds this year as officials continue to address a critical shortage of burial lots.
Commissioners David Bartlett, Steve Picard, and Bryan R. LeBlanc voted unanimously to accept prior meeting minutes. The commission discussed a request from the School Department to use the upper cemetery for graduation parking, weighing traffic controls including one-way signage and parking attendants.
Chair Cormier committed to immediately addressing turf damage from utility vehicles and will instruct companies and on-duty police not to park on cemetery grounds.
