LEOMINSTER — City council approves fuel storage expansion, defers zoning changes. The Leominster City Council voted 8-1 to grant Highline Wallen, represented by Plant Manager Kurt Owanisian, permission to expand above ground fuel storage at 163 Pioneer Drive from 10,000 gallons to 35,000 gallons, with Councillor Eladia Romero casting the sole dissenting vote. Council President Claire M.
Freda oversaw unanimous decisions to defer two zoning amendments—one for self-storage uses and one for accessory apartments—with continued hearings set for January 26. The council approved a 7-0 utility pole petition for Jungle Road while deferring a Pleasant Street pole proposal to February 9, and voted to deny a no-parking sign petition for Manchester Street.
