City Council defers human rights commission proposal for further study

Leominster defers human rights commission, seeks more research and input. Ways & Means Committee voted 3-0 to grant further time on Councillor Carrie Noseworthy's petition to establish the commission, with Councillor Eladia Romero expressing support while calling for additional education and stakeholder involvement. The committee also voted 3-0 to recommend that municipal aggregation petitioners Councillors Brandon L.
Robbins and Susan Chalifoux Zephir's electricity-load aggregation proposal be withdrawn without prejudice after Chair David R. Cormier raised concerns about mandatory enrollment. A third petition, a license renewal for Ginny's Helping Hand Inc., was also withdrawn without prejudice.
