Conservation · Meeting of July 28, 2026

Leominster conservation panel clears three Roche Avenue homes under a new wetland cap. The Conservation Commission voted 4-0 six times Tuesday to close hearings on and approve Notices of Intent for single-family homes at 37, 43 and 49 Roche Avenue, part of a Pierce Pond subdivision represented by developer Peter Bovenzi. Each approval carries conditions requiring a recorded deed restriction that caps cumulative wetland filling across the entire subdivision at 4,999 square feet, protection language covering the pond's "bank," and a ban on equipment outside erosion-control barriers.

Commissioner Nick Venti pressed for details on slope stabilization near steep 2-to-1 grades, asking, "What's the plan to protect the resource area from any sort of erosion?" Bovenzi told the board he plans to live in one of the subdivision's homes himself. Separately, the commission continued a certificate of compliance for 39 Legate Hill Road to August 11 so Venti can inspect rear-slope grading, and tabled approval of its July 14 minutes.
