Leominster Calendar Adds Sholan Farms Weekend, Hispanic Heritage Event

Leominster's community calendar picked up two new late-summer fixtures this week, with Sholan Farms' opening weekend and a citywide Hispanic Heritage Event both set for Saturday, Aug. 29, alongside a fresh run of Leominster Public Library programming for teens and kids and a Samoset Middle School social for incoming sixth graders.

SCHOOLS

Samoset Middle School will host an ice cream social for incoming sixth graders on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m., according to the Leominster Public Schools calendar, giving new middle schoolers a chance to meet classmates before the fall term opens.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The city's public events calendar added two new late-August entries: Sholan Farms' opening weekend, running Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29-30, and a Leominster Hispanic Heritage Event on Saturday, Aug. 29.

At the Leominster Public Library, registration opens Tuesday, Sept. 1, for a new Tween Book Boxes program, and that same day brings a Meet and Greet with Penny the Cockapoo for younger patrons. The library also has a run of teen programming on tap this week, including Custom Jenga, a Book and Movie Club session, and a Rock Painting event.
