Leominster City Council approves $3 million stabilization transfer and school bussing contract

Leominster City Council unanimously approved a $3 million transfer to the stabilization account, bringing the fund balance to $21,630,452, and authorized Purchasing Agent Gregory C. Chapdelaine to award a five-year school bussing services contract effective July 1, 2026. The nine-member council also passed six other financial appropriations totaling approximately $84,000, including $50,000 for the City Solicitor Expense Account and $20,000 for the Bulletproof Vest Fund; one request for $10,000 to the Building Expense Account passed 8-1.
The council set March 23 public hearings for two National Grid and Verizon utility petitions and a Pluto Cannabis Co. special permit request, voted to leave two other petitions without prejudice, and gave further time to human rights and zoning ordinance proposals.
