Leominster City Hall Posts New Flamingo Express FAQs

LEOMINSTER — The city added a new set of frequently asked questions about its Flamingo Express program to the municipal website this week, one of the few concrete updates to land in Leominster over the past day. Elsewhere, the school district quietly locked in its 2026-2027 meeting calendar for English learner families, and the public library rolled out fresh teen and family programming set to begin next week.

TOWN HALL

The city posted a new "Flamingo Express FAQs" item to the News & Announcements section of leominster-ma.gov, offering residents a reference page on the program without further detail in the announcement itself. The post arrived under Mayor Dean Mazzarella's administration alongside the city's routine News Flash rotation.

SCHOOLS

Leominster Public Schools published its English Learner Parent Advisory Council meeting schedule for the 2026-2027 year, setting four sessions: Thursday, October 8 (in person), Thursday, January 14 (virtual), Thursday, March 25 (in person) and Thursday, June 10 (in person). The district also continues to point families to its MCAS Family Portal and preschool registration pages ahead of the new school year.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Leominster Public Library added two new offerings to its fall lineup: the Teen Fall Reading Program opens registration Tuesday, September 1, and Tween Book Boxes registration opens the same day. The library is also introducing a new pet-visit event, "Meet and Greet with Penny the Cockapoo," for kids on September 1.

COMING UP

The Leominster Hispanic Heritage Event is set for Saturday, August 29. The city's Contributory Retirement Board meets Monday, August 31. At the library, the Teen Fall Reading Program and Tween Book Boxes registration both open September 1, alongside a new Alzheimer and Dementia Caregivers Support Group session and an English Conversation Class. Leominster Public Schools holds Lincoln and Bennett preschool orientation September 1, with Priest Street Elementary orientation and Frances Drake kindergarten orientation following September 3.
