Leominster Schools Set Orientation Dates for Early September
Leominster Public Schools has posted a run of orientation and back-to-school dates for the first week of September, while the Leominster Public Library continues rolling out its fall lineup of adult, teen and kids programming.

The city's calendar shows the Contributory Retirement Board meeting Monday, August 31, one of the few public meetings currently posted for the coming days on the city's website.
SCHOOLS
Leominster Public Schools has set several orientation sessions for the first week of September. Lincoln and Bennett preschool orientation is scheduled for September 1 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., while Priest Street Elementary holds its orientation September 3, also at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Frances Drake Elementary has split kindergarten orientation into two sessions on September 3: last names A through L at 10 a.m., and M through Z at 2 p.m. Students get two additional days off before classes begin in earnest, with no school listed for September 4 and September 7.
The district's ELPAC (English Learner Parent Advisory Council) has previously posted its 2026-27 meeting dates, beginning October 8.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Leominster Public Library's fall calendar is filling in. Adult programs next week include Chess Club on August 31 from 7 to 8:45 p.m., an English Conversation Class and the Alzheimer and Dementia Caregivers Support Group both on September 1, and Chair Yoga for Pain and Stress Relief on September 2. Fall Book Boxes for adults also become available September 1.
For younger patrons, the library opens registration for Tween Book Boxes on September 1 and hosts a Meet and Greet with Penny the Cockapoo that evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Preschool Yoga returns September 4, followed by Family Fun Night: Exploring Colors on September 9. Teens can join the Teen Writing Contest and Teen Fall Reading Program, both starting September 1, with Teen Writing Club meeting September 2 and a Start of School Henna event set for September 3.
Sholan Farms' opening weekend runs through Sunday, August 30, continuing to anchor the city's late-summer community calendar.
