Leominster Recreation Commission selects new director as Colburn Pond Dam project moves toward construction. Benjamin Kiwanuka was selected as the next Director of the Recreation Department to begin work the second week of May, following search committee interviews, with Chair Maureen Donatelli presiding. Major capital projects are advancing: bids for the Colburn Pond Dam project are scheduled to open April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.; the Barrett Park All Persons Trail is under construction with Massachusetts Trails Grant funding; and Lassie League Field improvements are nearing completion with new sheds, roofs, and improved infield.
