Sholan Farms Sets Aug. 29 Opening Weekend in Leominster

Leominster's event calendar picks up heading into the holiday weekend, with Sholan Farms set to open for the season Aug. 29-30 and the city's library and schools posting a run of early September program dates.
SCHOOLS
Leominster Public Schools' online calendar shows the 2026-2027 year taking shape with a series of orientation dates. Lincoln and Bennett preschools hold orientation Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and Frances Drake Elementary holds kindergarten orientation Sept. 3, split by last name: A through L at 10 a.m. and M through Z at 2 p.m. Priest Street Elementary's orientation is also set for Sept. 3. Students get no-school days Sept. 4 and Sept. 7, according to the district calendar.

Sholan Farms' opening weekend runs Aug. 29-30, according to the city's event calendar, kicking off one of Leominster's better-known seasonal destinations for the fall. The city is also set to hold its Leominster Hispanic Heritage Event on Aug. 29, and Downtown Sounds returns Aug. 28 downtown.
The Leominster Public Library has a busy stretch of its own. A Film Night for Adults runs Aug. 27 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and the library's Chess Club meets Aug. 31 from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Teens can drop in for Teen Rock Painting Aug. 27 and Teen Ribbon Boards with a movie screening Aug. 28. Starting Sept. 1, the library opens registration for Fall Book Boxes, its Teen Writing Contest, and the Teen Fall Reading Program, alongside a new English Conversation Class and an Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregivers Support Group.
