Leominster Library Debuts New Caregiver Support Group

LEOMINSTER -- The Leominster Public Library is opening the second week of August with a new slate of adult programming, including a caregiver support group for families dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia, while the city's calendar points to National Night Out and a Doyle Field Commission meeting both landing on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The library's new Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregiver's Support Group holds its first listed session Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., giving residents who care for aging or ill family members a dedicated local meeting space. That same morning, from 10 to 11 a.m., the library is also running an English Conversation Class for residents building their language skills.

Two more adult offerings start the week: the Leominster Writing Group meets Monday, Aug. 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by Chess Club from 7 to 8:45 p.m. On Wednesday, Aug. 5, the library hosts a travel-themed talk, "Along Route 1: Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts," from 6 to 7 p.m.
